It repels water, blocks UV damage, resists chemicals, and makes every future wash dramatically easier. When it eventually wears, we can polish it off and reapply. You're never locked in. We decontaminate the paint, correct if needed, then coat. There is no shortcut on a proper ceramic coating job and we don't take one.
